Alu-Cast’s pressed aluminium fascia, box gutter and 3” swaged round downpipe were chosen by main contractors Conack for this purposely built dementia village in Bruff Co. Limerick. Set on a 4 acre site this is Irelands first purpose built community for people living with dementia. It consists of 3 large blocks, each containing 6 private living spaces with a garden. It also boasts a large reception area which consists of a café, gym and hair salon to cater for all needs. Our works on this build entailed the fitting of our pressed aluminium fascia, our specially designed box gutter and 3” round swaged downpipes to complete this modern look care centre. All these materials were powder coated in RAL7012 to seamlessly blend in with the grey roof. The fascia and box gutter were all manufactured in 3 metre lengths by Alucast’s manufacturing team. The fascia measured 750mm high with a 50mm drip lip and was fitted with hidden screws every .5 of a metre. The box gutter was fitted using a direct fixing method where they are again screwed every .5 of a metre through the back of the gutter. Our 3” round swaged downpipes were then fitted using brackets and hammer in fixings. These fitting methods were essential in achieving a smooth and modern look.
